This track is a reimagination of the popular TikTok song by Rokudenashi (ロクデナシ). Separating itself from the original’s calming vibes, this rock remix slams the vocals at you with more force by introducing a distorted guitar, heavier drums, and a bass guitar.
New songs pop up all the time on TikTok and Instagram, but only some will catch my ear and stick around for a while. The way the vocals hit on the original song seems too excitable for the mellow instrumental.
I love the track a lot and the sound for it surprisingly did not come from a Serum preset. I heavily processed the muted guitar preset that came with Studio One itself to create the shredding guitar chords. I also found a nice guitar VST that plays guitar swipe sounds to mimic a live player moving his hands up and down the fretboard.
The best part of making the track was sequencing the complex drums and integrating crashes and hihats into the already complicated beat. My previous tracks mostly avoided drum fills and cymbals because I never knew how to make them.
